Skilled – Regional Sponsored Visa (subclass 475)
This visa subclass is for skilled migrants who do not have the points required for the Skilled – Independent or Skilled – Sponsored visa categories, and who undertake to live and work in a regional or low population growth area of Australia for the duration of their visa.
The subclass 475 visa is a temporary visa valid for a period of 3 years and it requires State or Territory Sponsorship. State or Territory governments undertake to sponsor applicants where those applicants have skills and qualifications which correspond to skills in demand in their state.
Applications for the Subclass 475 visa are performed in three (3) stages:
- Skill assessment by the relevant authority
- Application to the State or Territory government for sponsorship
- Visa Application to the Department of Immigration
