Visitor (Tourist) Visa
Whether you wish to visit Australia for leisure or to visit family members, York Immigration Services Australia will assist your application for a visitor (tourist) visa to Australia. York Immigration Services Australia understands the difficult task that the Australian Embassy staff face in distinguishing between the genuine and non-genuine visitor visa applicants. In the majority of cases, visitor visas to Australia are rejected due to lack of substantive evidence reflecting the personal circumstances of the applicant.
York Immigration Services Australia will prepare an application with the supporting documents which can be promptly and accurately assessed by the Department of Immigration officers. Our applications for visitor visas include individualised submissions and a comprehensive list of supporting documents. Furthermore, if we believe that a matter has strong merits deserving of a visitor visa, we will not hesitate to represent the matter before the Migration Review Tribunal, even if a successful outcome was not given by Departmental officers in the first instance.
A visitor visa, as the name suggests, allows you to visit Australia for leisure, to see the country or to visit family and friends. Visitor visa holders are not permitted to work in Australia, but may study and attend short courses and seminars.
This visa is usually for 3 months, though it can be extended to a maximum of one year. A visitor visa may be applied for at an Australian Consulate, Embassy or High Commission in your country of usual residence.
Basic requirements:
- Be a genuine visitor;
- Not be entering Australia for business purposes or medical treatment; and
- Have adequate funds for support while in Australia.
If you have a family member who resides in Australia, you may apply for a family sponsored visa, which may increase your chances of obtaining a visitor visa. A security bond may be lodged with this application.
