This independent skilled migration subclass is designed for applicants who satisfy the basic legislative requirements and pass the Department's points test without any close family ties in Australia .
The subclass 175 visa confers Australian permanent residency on the holder. To qualify for the visa, an Applicant must obtain the requisite number of points based on characteristics such as age, English language ability, skills and qualifications.
Applications for the Subclass 175 visa are performed in two (2) stages:
- Skill assessment by the relevant authority
- Visa application to the Department of Immigration
